Doom Patrol Is Going To Feature On DC’s Titans TV Series

After three months of teasing fans, Geoff Johns announced that Doom Patrol would be featured on the live-action Titans series, scheduled to debut later in the year on the new DC Comics streaming service.

Johns, who is DC’s president as well as the chief creative officer, revealed a cover image of the script that he has written for Episode 5, aptly titled “Doom Patrol.”

The Doom Patrol was unveiled in 1963 in My Greatest Adventure #80 and was a creation of Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani. Contrary to Justice League which was marketed as larger-than-life superheroes, the Doom Patrol were given the feel of outcasts or misfits. Their own comic’s cover had mentioned them as “The World’s Strangest Heroes.” Among the leading Titans characters, Beast Boy was in fact from DC’s Doom Patrol, after he was adopted by the founding member Elasti-Girl and her husband Steve Dayton aka Mento.

Titans executive producers are veterans  Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Shechter. The series is going to star Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove and Lindsey Gort as Amy Rohrbach.
